A Letter From the CPSP Governing Council

Dear CPSP Community,

We members of the Governing Council of the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP) write today to affirm the recent passage of new bylaws on April 9, 2025, and the election of new officers of the corporation on June 29, 2025.  The Governing Council, for those unaware, is the board of directors for CPSP, as outlined in the Articles of Incorporation with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our new officers are now listed as such with the Virginia State Corporation Commission.

Let it be clear, the Governing Council of CPSP supports without reservation our duly chosen officers: President Rachel Greiner, Vice President Garrett Bugg, and Treasurer Noel Gray.

Further, the Governing Council affirms in our continued effort to strengthen and stabilize CPSP:

  1. The role of General Secretary no longer exists in our governance structure and therefore no longer holds any legal or organizational authority in CPSP.

  2. Following the Governing Council Meeting on July 16, 2025, and the subsequent cease and desist letter, CPSP’s contract with Angela Davis as Secretary Pro-Tempore has now been formally terminated. Please direct any correspondence from Ms. Davis to your email’s spam, junk, or trash folders, as it no longer represents CPSP in any authorized capacity.

  3. Regarding financial transactions, any dues payments, accreditation fees, certification fees, or Graduate Institute (DMin Program) tuition payments should be made via a physical check payable to CPSP, and mailed to the PO Box that is authorized by CPSP: CPSP Treasurer Noel Gray, P.O. Box 12473, Oklahoma City, OK 73157. For questions about invoices contact Noel at treasurer@cpsp.org.

  4. Certification Questions should be directed to Certification Chair, Jonathan Freeman at certification@cpsp.org.

  5. Chapter Related Matters including formation of new chapters, and membership updates should be directed to Chapter of Chapters Chair, Rita Bakr at chapterofchapters@cpsp.org.

  6. The authority to make appointments within CPSP rests solely with the Governing Council. We acknowledge that Dr. Raymond Lawrence has continued to announce appointments in the name of CPSP. These appointments hold no standing or authority within the corporation.

We remain dedicated to fostering accountability, transparency, and collegiality in this season of transition.  Additional communication will be sent directly to conveners for distribution to individual chapters periodically.

With respect and resolve,

Members of Governing Council
