A Message From CPSP Officers

Dear CPSP Community,

As your President, Vice President, and Treasurer, we write today with a deep sense of responsibility and care for our shared covenant and our collective mission. The message circulated on July 3rd by a self-declared group of chapter conveners—while passionate—contains significant misrepresentations and undermines the collegial spirit that defines CPSP.

  1. Leadership and Governance: CPSP has undergone necessary transitions this year to address longstanding governance gaps. These changes—including the confirmation of the slate of officers given by the Nominations Committee on June 29th—were conducted transparently, legally, and in accordance with the bylaws ratified by the Governing Council. The Transition Team was formed precisely to ensure organizational continuity and ethical oversight.

  2. Administrative Changes: No one has been fired.

  3. Contradictory Messaging: The message referenced confusion between communications from the General Secretary Emeritus and the Transition Team. We acknowledge the longstanding contributions of the GSE to CPSP. However, as noted in the first message from the Transition Team, his communication was issued independently of the Governing Council; this understandably introduced confusion, as it did not reflect the current direction, procedures, or decision-making processes agreed upon by leadership. The message from the Transition Team was sent out within 24 hours of the consensus on the new officers. This timeline was decided upon by the Governing Council--communicating with the community is of great importance to all involved.

  4. Chapter Representation and Authority: We deeply value the leadership and growth of our chapters. However, CPSP governance is not determined by chapter size or participation at any one event. It is rooted in covenantal processes and shared accountability—not self-appointed mandates. There are avenues carefully outlined in our by-laws which indicate how concerns can be brought up to the community.

Reaffirming Our Shared Covenant

Our covenant emphasizes spiritual pilgrimage, collegiality, and non-predatory relationships. To weaponize the language of the covenant against fellow members is antithetical to its spirit. Conflict does not justify abandoning order or ethical boundaries.

We invite continued dialogue and welcome diverse viewpoints—but we reject attempts to usurp authority outside the bounds of governance, especially when cloaked in accusations of “hostile takeover.”

We support the upcoming July 8th Town Hall as a space for honest conversation. Let us gather with mutual respect, informed clarity, and a collective desire to strengthen CPSP for the future. To be best informed, please take time to listen to the governing council meetings from both April 9 and June 29 shared below.

With trust in our shared mission,

Rachel Greiner, President

Garrett Bugg, Vice President

Noel Gray, Treasurer
