I am happy to announce the appointment, with the consensus of the Executive Chapter, of Parthenia Caesar to the role of Administrator of the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. The position was previously held by Ed Luckett, who resigned to take a hospice chaplain position in Las Vegas. We wish him well.
Parthenia brings over twenty years of extensive corporate experience in risk and controls, serving as an operations risk manager and compliance officer with Wells Fargo, BNB Bank, and Citigroup. Her practical knowledge of project management and collaborative team-building promises to benefit the CPSP community significantly. Parthenia holds a master's degree in business administration and banking/finance.
In addition to her corporate experience, Parthenia is in the progress of obtaining her New York State License in Psychoanalysis with the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP). She holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the New York Theological Seminary. She is currently a clinical pastoral education/training supervisor with NYC/LI Clinical Pastoral Education Training Center and the Long Island Clinical Supervision Training Center.
A member of CPSP since 2005, Parthenia has been involved in leadership as a chapter convener. She is a board-certified Clinical Chaplain/Pastoral Counselor and Diplomate Supervisor with CPSP and is currently a member of the Central Nassau, NY Chapter.
Parthenia has served on several committees such as the Certification Committee (2016-2019), Chapter Authorization Committee Chair (2019-2021), 2020 Plenary Planning - Local Committee Chair, and the CPSP By-laws Changes Committee (2020-present). She has organized the past two graduation ceremonies for the CPSP Graduate Institute. Additionally, she has started and organized several chapters in the New York and New Jersey areas.
The CPSP Administrator reports to the General Secretary and ensures effective conduct of the affairs of the various standing committees. The duties of the Administrator are listed in the CPSP By-laws, §6.05.
We ask you to welcome Parthenia to her new position and do what you can to support her in making our community more prosperous and effective.
