CPSP Welcomes New Co-Presidents  


At the March 14, 2021 meeting of the CPSP Governing Council, General Secretary Raymond Lawrence introduced the new co-presidents to the community. Bryan Jones, Co-President (Diplomates), and M. Patty Berrón, Co-President (Clinicians), were welcomed to their 2021-2023 term.

Bryan JonesReverend Dr. Bryan A. Jones, LPC is a native of Middlesex County, Virginia. Dr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Averett (College) University in Danville, VA. He was a double major in History and Political Science and a double minor in Criminal Justice and Sociology. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from The Samuel Proctor School of Theology (STVU) at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA, and Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.

Bryan is a licensed professional counselor, an ordained minister, a board-certified clinical chaplain, and a Diplomate Supervisor. He is a member of the Atlanta, GA Chapter. Bryan also serves on the Accreditation Oversight Committee, the Communications Committee, and the Plenary Planning Committee. He is a member of the Governing Board of the Graduate Institute of CPSP.

Bryan states, "My life's mission is that as people learn more about the mental and spiritual power within themselves, they can live better lives. Using principles of psychotherapy, therapeutic interventions, and spiritual empowerment are important keys to expanding consciousness and personal growth."

M. Patricia "Patty" BerronMeet M. Patricia Berrón

Reverend M. Patricia "Patty" Berrón is board certified clinical chaplain/pastoral counselor and is the convener of the Dallas Metroplex, TX Chapter. She is a supervisor-in-training, under Esteban Montilla, at the Ministerio Cristiano La Trinidad. Patty serves on the Certification Committee, Communications Committee, and the Plenary Planning Committee.

Patty is a family counselor at Koinonia Ministerial. She earned her Master's degree in Theology and Professional Counseling from Universidad Evangélica Nicaragüense Martin Luther King.

She has been a CPR/BLS/CDA Instructor for over thirty years and has worked in disaster mental health for the American Red Cross since 2007. Additionally, she works as a school readiness reviewer, health and safety reviewer, and professional development specialist.

Patty states, "I am committed to honor, serve, and bring the greater good of all during these unprecedented challenging times. Let us look forward as a professional community ready to create a promising future characterized by unity, inclusion, and social justice. A tomorrow where we continue to explore our inner beings while assisting each other as competent midwives."

Special Thanks to the Past Co-Presidents

Following his introduction of the new co-presidents, Raymond thanked the past co-presidents, Jonathan Freeman and Elizabeth "Libby" Grobmyer, for their service for the past two years, 2019-2021. At the recent meeting of the Governing Council, on March 14, Raymond stated that he hoped that Libby and Jonathan would continue in the future to exercise their leadership in roles that most interest them, for the benefit of the entire CPSP community.
