BART for Chaplains
Navigating the Dynamic Field of
NATIONAL CLINICAL TRAINING SEMINAR – WEST
Sierra Retreat Center
13—15 October 2019
BART = Boundaries, Authority, Role, Task
The event schedule
will be posted very soon!
Building on last year's event, "The Ever-Present Others: Applying Group Relations Learning to Improve Clinical Pastoral Care," will (conceptually and experientially) explore BART through a variety of approaches designed to illuminate the powerful (seen and unseen) contextual elements present in any professional setting, especially those in which Chaplains often find themselves.
Experiential events will include techniques for scaling the ladder of consciousness such as systemic constellation work, group relations "here and now” work, meditation, and social dreaming. There will also be ample time for review and application so as to examine one's own skills and values and apply the learning to real-world organizational dilemmas.
In addition to this multi-modal introduction to BART and its relevance to organizational and institutional life, participants will have the opportunity to hear from two invited guest speakers coming to share and weave into the experience their applied insights to the often challenging encounters chaplains face with patients and their families.
